Have you ever been in a situation that you have no control over, yet it impacts you deeply?
In his brand-new weekly program, “A Call to the Nation”, Pastor Carter Conlon talks about a time in his own life where he cries out to God asking:
Is this really necessary? Hasn’t it been hard enough? Why do I have to sit and trust? Is there divine purpose in this and will I ever understand?
I don’t know about you, but I can definitely relate to these questions.
I actually just met with a mentor of mine who said to me, “You didn’t choose this and you don’t want any part in it, but you have the choice in how it shapes or defines you.”
Similarly, Pastor Carter Conlon reminds listeners that we’re bound to go through pain, but we can have confidence in our faithful Lord, who promises to bring us through the pain with His glory and out of the pain with His power.
He knows our full story. He knows what we’re going to face tomorrow.
He can provide in the wilderness and He has prepared us for this very time.
For me personally, it tends to be a shift from “God, why have you forsaken me?” to “God, what are you doing in me?” And once I choose to step into this shift, I’m able to better understand God’s goodness in the midst of pain.
Psalm 119:75 states, “…in your faithfulness you have afflicted me.”
I’m so grateful that, in addition to his daily 1:00 feature “It’s Time to Pray”, Pastor Carter’s wisdom and hunger for truth will now be presented in a 24:55 format as he launches “A Call to the Nation” on February 5th. If you haven’t yet signed up to air, I highly recommend you do.
Heading to NRB next month?
So is Carter — and he would love to meet with you! If you’d like to arrange a time of fellowship and/or an interview with him, let me know when you’re available.
