As the pendulum swings ever more closely to the empty nest season of my life, I’m thinking a lot about things I didn’t do as a parent . . . there are so many more things I could, and should, have taught them, shown them and experienced with them.

“Regret” is a big word  . . . it’s more like, “disappointment.”  Looking back, my heart is a bit disappointed about the “could have “and “should have’s.”

The thing is though, whether that list is long or short, isn’t just like our gracious God to encourage us by showing us the things He did through us?

I had one of those moments recently with my youngest.

In the flurry of her summer activity, my 17-year- old, about to start driving, yearbook editor, finishing up summer AP class assignments and soon to be high school senior, is choosing to focus the fleeting moments of summer time to something so important . . . something more important than what’s on her “to-do- list.”  She is choosing to focus on saving lives by starting a pro-life club at her public high school.

Through the privilege of working with Life Issues for nearly three decades, thankful that God has used this experience to speak into Rebecca’s life . . . just as Life Issues exists to changing hearts and minds of people through education, Rebecca wants to change hearts and minds of fellow students through education.

The post on her Instagram story this week was:

Hey Glendora High, let’s choose life! Questions? Instant message me!

For 25 years, organizations and individuals around the world have depended upon Life Issues Institute to provide the latest information and effective tools to protect innocent human life from womb to tomb. I’m more thankful than ever that this commitment, so clearly articulated in the daily “Life Issues” radio commentary, is equipping parents, like me, and the next generation, like my Rebecca, to stand up for life!

I’ve heard it said that your greatest contribution to the Kingdom of God may not be something you do, but someone you raise.   I’m thankful to our heavenly Father that this weekend included a glimpse that this is true of my life.

Thank you for sharing this Lee Ann! I got involved with the abortion issue as a senior at a public high school. It’s a great environment to change hearts and minds. Please thank your daughter for me. Pro-life education is the foundation on which we build political and legislative victories. http://www.lifeissues.org
