SANCTITY OF LIFE SUNDAY IS JANUARY 21, 2024
About
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a presidential proclamation designating the Sunday closest to January 22—the day the Supreme Court issued its infamous Roe v. Wade decision—as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. While, unfortunately, not every President since Reagan has followed the practice of such proclamation, Christians continue to recognize the date as a significant reminder that by all means we must continue to celebrate the sanctity of life.

In the wake of the landmark Dobbs decision in June 2022, the abortion debate continues to rage on across the United States, and the battle to protect preborn babies and their moms has only just begun. Robyn Chambers updates listeners on Focus on the Family’s Sanctity of Human Life strategy. Todd and Kelly Hudnall, pastors of Radiant Church in Colorado Springs, share about the Embrace Grace outreach that they’ve had at their church. They validate the need for churches to play a significant role in rescuing and supporting women facing unplanned pregnancies. Together they will encourage listeners to stay engaged in living out their pro-life values.

The positive impact and reach of Christian radio cannot be overstated. Christian radio is a strong and resilient force for the spread of the Gospel, whether the format is preaching, teaching, music, or talk. I believe it is more relevant today than at any time in its history to provide an easily accessible means to communicate hope to a world in need of a loving Savior. — Troy Miller, CEO of National Religious Broadcasters
Radio has persevered, as it always does in times of crisis … It’s been there for the American public as a source of solace and respite, providing great news, information and companionship – all the things radio does. — David Fields, Entercom President and CEO said about the challenges radio faced this year.
There’s something indescribably special and even exhilarating about turning on the radio and hearing something you weren’t quite expecting. When programming is curated by someone other than yourself, you never know exactly what you’re going to get. — Fred Jacobs
There’s something about the spirit of radio. It helps us all to know each other better and gives us a sense of purpose and community in a time where we need those things more than ever. — Adam Grant, Creative Director, AKQA (abridged)

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
—Psalm 34:18
