So what are your Thanksgiving traditions? Maybe it’s making your great-grandma’s pumpkin pie? Or it’s watching your youngest grandchild, dressed up as a pilgrim, act out “The First Thanksgiving?”

Nothing brings friends and family closer than sharing in the timeless, festive activities of the season.

Some of my favorite memories come out of holiday traditions. Every Thanksgiving my family sits around a beautifully decorated table and we each share something we’re thankful for from the past year. Although a simple tradition, it’s one that I treasure the most. Sharing together has become a beloved time to reflect on the faithfulness of God in each person’s life.

As I look forward to celebrating Thanksgiving in just a few short days, I was encouraged with these words from Max Lucado.

“A grateful heart sees each day as a gift. Ephesians 5:20 says, ‘give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.’ Reflect on your blessings.”

Max’s words reminded me that gratitude should never become my holiday tradition but rather the daily posture of my heart.

So today I choose thankfulness. Tomorrow I choose thankfulness. And so on and so on. I have so many reasons to give thanks!

With a heart of gratitude from all of us at Ambassador, we thank the Lord for you!

Thank you for your continued dedication to UpWords and for bringing daily encouragement to your listeners.

Happy Thanksgiving!

P.S. Don’t forget to save me a slice of that pumpkin pie!
