How would you answer these three questions?

  1. Why were you born?
  2. Where is the pain in your life?
  3. What are you doing about your dreams?

Over 40 years ago these three probing questions, posed by Mother Teresa, changed the course of one man’s life, Don Stephens, and resulted in the international charity, Mercy Ships, which has impacted more than 2.7 million lives.

Powerful questions, right?

As a Christian radio leader, your unique journey of victory, joy, and even pain has been used by God to bring you here today. He is using you to impact His kingdom, spread the gospel, and equip His people to daily live out their faith.

Everyone has a story to tell. For some, these questions have not yet been answered – it’s likely the case for some of your listeners.

Mercy Ships has launched a new hospital, the Global Mercy. This new ship will double the ministry’s capacity to provide free surgeries and medical training to the world’s forgotten poor.

To be fully operational by 2022, the Global Mercy requires professionals and skilled volunteers of all kinds. From teachers to engineers to bakers. With more than 200 volunteer opportunities available – it literally takes a village.

As Angie Fadely, Mercy Ship’s VP of Human Resources says,

“Our volunteers have been the heart of Mercy Ships for 40 years and are essential to the success of our new ship, the Global Mercy! This spirit of hope and healing inspires the best in everyone; the idea that I can help someone else by sharing my gifts, my knowledge, my resources, my strength, my prayers, with no thought for what I might get in return. This is truly the model of Jesus.”

And maybe, just maybe, volunteering with Mercy Ships will be the answer to these three questions, for one of your listeners!
