How many times have you heard “all good things take time” or maybe “the best things in life are worth the wait?” These timeless phrases have often been reiterated to me since I was young. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve experienced the truth behind these words firsthand in many areas of my life. Maybe you feel that way too?

After reading a recent Mercy Ships newsletter, I realized there is no better example of having patience in the journey. As you know, the Africa Mercy has been the hands and feet of mercy to the poorest of the poor. However, you may not be aware that a brand new ship, the Global Mercy, is under construction and has been fully funded long ago by friends of the ministry. Thanks be to God!

Because you air The Mercy Minute, you are a valued partner in the communication of this biblical message. I pray that you and your listeners find encouragement in how the Lord continues to further His message of mercy, both through you and now through the Global Mercy.

Let me bring you up to date on what’s transpired lately.

AUGUST: Aboard the Global Mercy, various installations transpired to the interior and exterior of the ship. The recognizable logo of Mercy Ships was plastered to the ship’s exterior. Visual marketing … check!

SEPTEMBER: A major milestone in the construction process occurred as all four generator engines were connected to the switchboards, allowing electricity to flow through the ship. Let there be light!

OCTOBER: Mercy Ships’ VP of Marine Operations spent time in the Philippines to finalize the “Equipping Phase.” This phase ensures the ship’s hospital is fully functional and stocked before the crew’s arrival. Preparations begin once Global Mercy leaves China’s shipyard and arrives at Subic Bay. Philippines, here we come!

As Global Mercy continues forward, the ministry would deeply appreciate your continued support through prayer in the following areas:

• For all of Mercy Ships partners in the Philippines and the Lord’s blessing on the planning of the Equipping Phase.
• For the shipyard work to continue progressing in a safe, timely manner.
• For the future people the Global Mercy is being built to serve, that they would know and understand the love of God.

Thank you again for your continued partnership and dedication to reaching your community with the message of mercy!
