Every family has its own language.  Ours is no exception. A common phrase you’ll hear at our house is “just keeping it real.”

If I try a new recipe and ask the kids what they think, there’s been occasion, (ok, maybe a few), when they’ve said I didn’t need to make that meal again. Next is the we’re “just keeping it real” line.  There’s no pretense.  It’s about being authentic.

Anne Graham Lotz shares in a recent video interview on ParentCompass.TV that the one thing she would say to parents who are seeking to raise Godly children in this wicked generation is, “be authentic  . . . in your own relationship with God.  Have a vibrant faith yourself.”

As parents, it’s easy to fall into the “do as I say, not as I do” trap when frankly, having an authentic faith is the best way to draw our children closer to Christ.  Anne shares that her aim as a parent was not to have her children become successful in their business or profession  . . . she wanted them to have a personal, vibrant faith and to have a love relationship with Jesus.

And the best way to have an authentic faith is to spend time in His Word . . . as Anne shares in her daily and weekly radio messages.

In the one-minute radio segments, “Daily Light for Daily Living®,” Anne shares a Scripture verse and gives insight on how it applies to personal life.   Through the weekly 30-minute messages of “Living in the Light,” Anne’s desire is that listeners would get to know God personally, intimately… as His friend – living in the light of His Word.

Of all the things I’ve communicated to my children over the years, my prayer would be that despite the mistakes, they’ve seen something in me that made them want to know Jesus all the more.
