Ken Tada is Joni Eareckson Tada’s husband, champion, and friend. The son of Japanese parents, Ken grew up in Burbank, California, and attended Cal State University at Northridge. Ken became a well-loved leader, teacher, mentor, and coach at John Burroughs High School, the same school he attended as a teenager. He taught World History, African-American Studies, and Government, and was also a football coach and Young Life leader. In 2003, Ken began serving at Joni and Friends upon his retirement from teaching and coaching football for 32 years.
Shauna Amick’s passion for the inherent worth and dignity of every human life was deeply solidified when her third child was diagnosed with Down syndrome, a near fatal heart defect, and a slew of other genetic abnormalities. As a speaker, author and disability rights advocate, Shauna shares the unique gift of viewing challenges through the lens of God’s Word and does so with great transparency and vulnerability. Shauna serves as the Director of Direct Response and Radio Channel Marketing for Joni and Friends and can regularly be heard encouraging radio listeners alongside Joni Eareckson Tada.
