Listening to the news on my way into the office today, there was lots of talk about the historic Rose Bowl Game between Georgia and Oklahoma, year in review wrap-ups as well as New Year resolutions.

The news story I can’t shake though isn’t about sports or resolutions, it’s about the missing woman feared abducted for human trafficking.

The news reported that deputies are searching for a 27 year old from Florida they believe may be a victim of human trafficking. She was last seen in Los Angeles, California. Deputies say she left everything she owns behind.

The victim’s father told reporters that everyone was worried about his daughter,

“She just vanished –we have no idea where she is or what she’s doing. Everyone is very worried about her, because she just wouldn’t vanish for so long.”

There’s a wide spread notion that human trafficking is just a third world problem, but what this news report underscored for me is the reality that it’s here . . . in our neighborhoods, our churches and in our families.

Brad Mattes, speaker on the daily 1:00 pro-life radio feature, Life Issues, has brought together knowledgeable people who can speak to this horrific epidemic on the new Sanctity of Life radio special, Victims in the Shadows.”  Awareness and education are certainly key regarding trafficking, but as parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, we need practical wisdom in dealing with the issues.  And that’s what the radio special is all about.

“Victims in the Shadows,” the 26:00 special designed for airing on Sanctity of Life Sunday, January 21st, will help your audience understand the reality of human trafficking but with biblical hope and encouragement.

Hearing about human trafficking tragedies such as the one about the young lady in Florida, underscores the need each one of us has to protect our children and others from being victims of this horrific crime. Contact Lee Ann now for details and clearance to air this important and timely special!
