Back in 1988, a popular song on the CCM charts was “Thank You.”

In that song, a Christian goes to heaven. There, he is greeted by his onetime Sunday school student, who became a Christian because of his class. The next person who approached him was a person reached with the gospel through a missionary this Christian supported financially.  The song concludes with people as far as the eye can see, lining up to thank this Christian for giving to the Lord.

The song resonated with so many Christians, largely because we all recognize that none of us know exactly how many people we will affect for Jesus Christ throughout our lives.

John Sorensen, president of Evangelism Explosion, recently challenged Share Life Today listeners to resolve in 2019 to share the gospel more often and confidently.  He said,

The New Year is always flooded with good intentions of becoming healthier, more productive or financially responsible. While these things are all well and good, Jesus has called us to a bigger goal! Before Jesus left the earth, we read in Acts 1 that He told us to go out and witness to everyone. We know that as the Great Commission. If you think you can’t do it – you’re wrong! If you can have a conversation with someone, you can witness! This year, resolve to be a witness for Jesus Christ. Start by telling them how you came to know Jesus, and end with an invitation to meet the God of the universe.

If you need help in getting started, there are great resources available at ShareLife.Today and, of course, helpful tips and conversation starters on the daily, one-minute radio feature, Share Life Today.

Happy New Year, and may 2019 be fruitful as we proclaim the gospel to those who desperately need to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ!
