Just about two weeks ago, we were all celebrating the birth of our Savior. But just because the Christmas season is over doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to fix our eyes on Him and be thankful for His everlasting promises.  In reviewing the content on It’s Time to Pray for this month, I was reminded of one the Lord’s promises to us when Pastor Carter Conlon read through Matthew 6:31- 33. Verse 33 resonated with me “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

Even though we are in a new year, a new decade, many of my fears remain the same. More so, as I am expecting my second child in June.  My mind is often filled with worry about “how will this work out,” “will we have enough,” and “was this the right time?” But as I continued to listen to Pastor Carter share his memory of many years ago, standing and looking at the charred remains of his home that had completely been destroyed by fire, and how everything they had physically worked for, for years, was suddenly gone … I was encouraged by his prayerful response. “Lord Jesus, I have truly sought you and your righteousness. I trust your promise to provide for me and my family, and provide He did! Pressed down, shaken together and running over, how faithful Jesus is.”

My prayer for 2020 is that I wholeheartedly seek Him and can fully rest in His promises and experience the peace that only God can provide, and know that our Heavenly Father already knows all our needs. Maybe, this is your prayer too as you navigate your own fear and worry.

By airing this program, your listeners receive the same daily encouragement in their own lives.
