Dr. Michelle White

For more than two decades, “The Mercy Minute” has provided listeners with the compelling stories of lives transformed by those who are following the example of Jesus by ministering to the desperately poor—both medically as well as spiritually—in underdeveloped countries around the world.

With her appointment in September 2025 to the role of Mercy Ships CEO, Dr. Michelle White now steps behind the microphone to share the impact that comes from bringing hope and healing to the neediest.

With more than 17 years of leadership experience across healthcare, missions, and academia, Dr. White is uniquely equipped to bring those stories to life as a passionate caregiver and follower of Christ.

Prior to taking on the leadership role at Mercy Ships, Dr. White served in various assignments with the organization—volunteering in 2005 and later serving five years on board the Africa Mercy in leadership roles, including Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Director of Medical Capacity Building.  During this time, those who served alongside of Dr. White noted the inspiration of her servant leadership.

Most recently Dr. White’s professional role has been as an award-winning Anesthesiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Europe’s leading children’s hospital.
