While in the car running errands with my daughter last week, we started listening to Christmas music and she asked me, “Mom, what’s your favorite Christmas song?”  Hmmm, had to think about that since I have so many favorites.  When I think of Christmas songs, I think Nat King Cole’s version of “The Christmas Song” might be my all-time favorite, but it’s the traditional Christmas carols that are most meaningful to me, those that remind us why we celebrate Christmas!

Even as I write this, I’m listening to some of my favorite carols like “Joy to the World,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and “The First Noel.”  To get you in the spirit, listen to this version by Bebe and Cece Winans and then if it isn’t your favorite, please share yours with me!

Someone else who loves Christmas carols is Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.  In fact, a couple of years ago, this talented pianist recorded an instrumental CD of her favorites.  So, in sharing them with listeners, the Revive Our Hearts program for Christmas Day will include various cuts from her “Come Adore” CD with Nancy providing historic and scriptural comments.  Nancy shares . . .

A lot of times around Christmas, we’re hearing this music, but we’re not thinking about what we’re really singing.  And that’s too bad, because there’s a lot of great truth—gospel truth—that is contained in some of our favorite carols.  They are an invitation to come adore—to adore the Savior who came to this earth to free us from our sin and to reconcile us to God.

We hope that your listeners will enjoy this special music and message.  But in the days leading up to Christmas, ROH listeners will hear special messages from Nancy as she shares teaching from Luke 2 and what the Christmas story means in our lives today.  You can find program details and promo copy here.

May you enjoy a blessed Christmas season as we celebrate the best gift ever!
