Valentine’s Day has become what many would cynically refer to as a “Hallmark Holiday” in the sense that it’s just a made-up occasion to spend money buying cards, flowers, and chocolate.

While some of this may be true, the Bible has a lot to say about love.  And as Christians, we should take advantage of this special day to grow our love for others . . . to put the love of God on display in the way we care for our family and friends, especially fellow believers.

In a special Valentine’s Day feature for “The Garlow Perspective” airing on February 14th, Pastor Jim Garlow shares this challenge with listeners . . .

1st Thessalonians 3 says: “May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each and every one of you.” So, how are you doing?

Now take a look at 1st Thessalonians 4. It says: “Now about brotherly love, we do not need to write to you, for you, yourselves, have been taught by God to love each other.” That’s quite a compliment.

Apparently they were loving each other well. But it goes on to say in verse 10: “And in fact, you do love all, yet we urge you, do so more and more.”

The Spirit of God would say to us all . . . Learn to love and grow your love even more and more for those around you. So, let me ask you again . . .

How are you doing in making your love increase for other believers?

I LOVE this message from Jim and encourage you to share it with your audience. To help you do so, we’ve created this quote graphic ready for your social media and website use:

Download it here along with other resources we have available to help celebrate the day.

Thank you for your partnership!  And, if you’ll be in Nashville at the NRB Convention, we hope you’ll make time to say HI to Jim at our annual “Meet & Greet” event on Wednesday, February 28th (8:30-10:00AM in Delta Island E).  We hope to see you there!
