“Anything that makes me need God is a blessing.” I was reminded of this quote by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth late last week just as the full impact of the Coronavirus crisis was hitting home with news of school closures, church services going online, and grocery stores being bombarded.
And then watching some of the Revive Our Hearts True Woman ’20 Conference via livestream that was taking place in Monterrey, Mexico was such an encouragement. Hearing Nancy’s timely message on “Remaining Steadfast in Trials” . . .
If you are not rooted in Christ and His Word, you will not be able to withstand trials. If you don’t have trials, you won’t develop strong, deep roots. Without pressures and trials, we will become weak and fragile. We will not be able to withstand the pressures of life.
You’re going to have trials. The question is: how are you going to respond to them? Trials strengthen your roots. They strengthen your faith. Deep roots prepare you to face storms.
Fiery trials will come into our lives, but we don’t need to be afraid, we don’t need to be anxious. We have a source of life inside us that is not dependent on external circumstances.
God provides grace for every trial we could ever face. His grace is enough. No matter what, God is faithful, God is good, God loves us, and He can be trusted to write our story.
Over 6,000 women gathered in Monterrey, Mexico together (along with thousands more joining online) to worship the Lord, dig into His Word, and grow in their faith. But it wasn’t without obstacles.
